Blind shopping

It's not advertisement or anti-advertisement. It's just my experience. Catalogues' shopping with sending via post office is not new idea. But currently it becomes more popular with Internet online servise. I'll describe here only 2 Internet-shops which I used really. 1st is German project but very popular in Russia - Quelle ( 2nd is British brand JoeBrowns (
1) These pants was ordered about 3 years ago from Quelle. Price of it was approximatelly 50$.This garment was demonstrated in catalogue as grey skinny pants for youth. As you can see really it's not so. After 1-2 wearing the threads of  material is damaged. In short, I don't like this garment and I wear it rare.

2)  Tunic from JoeBrowns was ordered recently. It looks as dress for my height. Price of it is about 42£. The garment is soft and comfy but has one trouble - bad quality of print. "It's not  fault, it's design feature", - they said. I think I'll wear it but I expected better thing.
P.S. The belt, clutches and jewelry were bought separately.
Conclusions. I don't like to buy in Internet shops/catalogues but probably in future it will be better and I'll change my opinion.

What do women and girls wear in Russian provinces?

If girl wears Chanel it doesn’t mean she has good taste. It means she has money to get Chanel.
When Italians, French and last time Moscow girls attack boutiques to search special thing from new collection, our province girls look through fashion magazines and get envy.
Russia is special country which has millions of contrasts and contradictions. Let’s fashion tendencies through the prism of mean life level of a town. First, let’s divide all clothes for 4 categories: expensive famous designers such as Armani, Gucci or Dior, not very expensive but popular brands like Zara, Bershka or Mango, there are Chinese and Turkish “cloths” in the markets and small shops and handmade things, for example, knitted pullover. What’s in real life? First category is forbidden for most citizens of big cities and small towns with middle life’s degree. As regards the second category it’s not so easy. Girl from deep province can get clothes more than 20% expensive because she need to go to nearest city and to spend  money for bus ticket or car gasoline. Also she can miss most of sales and bonus actions. Forth category is the best. You can do all things for yourself. But there is a problem here also. You cannot be so talented and creative as professional designer. That’s why we must choose only third category. It’s Chinese and Turkish clothes of low quality. Add here new Russian brands which we can see from time to time and “blind shopping” from online catalogues.
I’ll show here 2 looks of mine and similar looks of fashion website
Look #1 is for work and pleasure.

Polyester blouse of dark-turquoises color, cheap grey skirt from market. You can find classic printed blazer in nearest trade center. I went 120 km from here for it. (See previous blog message). Remained things are famous brand Noname  (joking).

Look #2 is for active time-spending and shopping.

Flowered blouse was sewn by my known sewer some years ago. Grey jeans are very popular clothes of our markets. Knitted vest is my favorite thing. You can knit it yourself or buy it at trade center of a city. Bag and shoes are noname too.

My finish thinking is: if you have many qualitative brands’ clothes in your shops and if you have money then you can look modern and stylish. But if you have no it then it’s so hard to get good taste. I want to try it. But I don’t know if it’s worked out for me.

mom's bd

I want to say thanks to people which supported me in "fashion fight". And I want to say people which sent negative comments - if you don't like my face and clothes just don't look this blog please. Do you think really your designers' clothes is made in Italy or France? No! It's same China with same price as mine but you don't want to be honest. Almost all pret-a-porte designers have factories in China and other similar countries. I tried Dolce&Gabanna, Armani jeans and some others and I didn't see difference with that I wear usually. Dear girls, don't be victims of fashion. Wear all that you like but not all you think fashionable.

I'll return to my blog because nobody forbid me to do it. It's not crime to put here my photos for friends. Recently I was at birthday party of my mother. I wore this dress of mustard color.

Dress - Favori (Turkey). Approximate price is about 45$

Unfortunately I cannot do it but I know some lace makers which did their masterpieces. I present here blouse, collars and small items most of it was made by my aunt grandmother Popova Anna Nikolaevna.

Merry Christmas, Russians!

Today is orthodox Xmas. Russians have own traditions of celebrating it. For example, night before Christmas is time of magic, foretells and wonders.
"Promised, masked, come to me for supper" - girl says near bed is putting plate to bedside-table. She hopes to see her future groom in night-dream :-)

Happy New Year!!!

Happy holidays to all. I wish you success, health and great love!
Sorry I didn't congratulate you by Christmas. It was because there is Xmas 7 of January in Russia. And New Year we celebrate twice - 1 and 14 of January. That's strange traditions.

This is my Xmas tree. 2011 is year of Rabbit (or Hare, or Cat) by Chinese horoscope.
